Zoe and Patrick chose the spend the first part of their Loft at Luna Grand Rapids wedding day with just their closest family and friends. Zoe did a stunning job designing the space. She allowed the architecture to speak for itself and accented it with simple candles and greenery. Not to mention, if you get married at the loft at luna, the tacos are BOMB. Also, tacos are the way to my heart, so yes please…and yes I did go back for seconds…ok thirds.
Laura had the most spectacular vision for her day. Vibrant jewel toned colors, with whimsical florals and even some streamers. It was chic, bold, eclectic, inviting, and colorful. Kyle sported a blush pink suit, which, let me tell you, more grooms need to think out of the style box and try something bold like this
We spent the evening exploring townsend park. I had never been to this grand rapids park before and it was so pretty. It was a gloomy late fall day until the sun gave us a sneak appearance thru the rows of bare birch trees. The super tall rows of trees in the forest is probably my favorite part of the park and gives a cool graphic effect. The trail opens up into a beautiful clearing as well…you get the best of all the worlds :)
talk about a freaking cool grand rapids wedding venue! if you are looking for a unique backdrop to party the night away, the grand rapids public museum is that place. With the floor to ceiling grand rapids river front view, complete with massive whale bone installation and use of the historical carousel, your guests will feel like they stepped into another world.
wedding venues don’t have to be anything extraordinary. as long as your surround yourself with the people you love and do it your way, nothing can be any better than that!! however, I must say, michigan provides some of the most unique and beautiful landscapes for wedding venues.

in the most perfect little clearing, in the most perfect little michigan forest, held the most perfect little intimate wedding.
since becoming a photographer and since moving to grand rapids michigan, I seem to always fine myself on the hunt for new locations for engagement sessions. every back alley or buildings with walls of crawling ivy gets a little pin in my brain. its like a treasure hunt looking for new urban locations for engagement sessions.
at salvage one, you can either have your ceremony inside or outside the venue and both are equally as cool, however I am glad they chose to do it outside. the way the building surrounds them with the ivy on the walls and all of the vintage artifacts is such a cool vibe.
